Thanks for bearing with the minor break in the schedule last week. I do may best to make sure this comic and the daily strips hosted on Drunk Duck stay as regular as possible, but there are going to be times when the work I do for free takes a back seat to the work I do for pay.
There’s an easy remedy to this, though, that you, the reader can exercise. Help me turn the work I do for free, into the work I do for pay (of course). Buy books, commission art, hit the site as much as possible and get your friends and family to hit it as well. If it were up to me, I’d be doing a full color page every day Monday through Friday and posting them here on circlecomics. But that can’t happen without an influx of capital. So… there you go!
Anyway, “Stick-Man” is hitting the peak on the roller coaster for the downhill slalom of reveals. From here on out every page is either significant reveal or action. Enough talking, it’s time to punch!
In Other News
I’ve mentioned it several times here on circlecomics, Twitter, Facebook etc., tonight is the big premiere event for the inaugural edition of the 48 Hour Film Project.
24 films will be screened in 2 screening groups (A and B) starting at 6:30 at the Appletree Cinema 12, 16 Orchard View Drive, Londonderry. I cannot stress enough how awesome it would be for you (yes, YOU!) to attend this event. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased right now (GO!). If you decide to go, do NOT be late. The film that I helped produce, write and star in called “Location” by Strange Ink Pictures (Me + Bryan McCarthy and Greg Petrin), will be the first film in screening group A (I think). That means we’re on first. We’re kicking this thing off. If you want to see it and you are 6 minutes and 23 seconds late, you will not see it.
I’m going to be there nice and early to hang out and talk with the rest of my team, all of the other film makers and anyone that stands still for too long in my general vicinity. This could be you!
Of course, if you happen to miss the premiere event or can’t make it because you live somewhere outside reasonable driving distance (or if you had other plans) we will be making the film available for viewing immediately after the premiere on our Facebook page (you should be a fan) so make sure you check that out and let us know what you think!
So the good news is that I recently took on some private commission work. There are several reasons why this is good news. But the only really important one is that it puts money in my pocket.
The bad news is that this kind of commission work outranks my comics work. I know, I know! That’s ridiculous! How can that be?
Well, it is. Unfortunately. I thought I was going to be able to stay on track and get all of it done, but you’ve watched as the schedule has started to slip in the last week.
So, I’m being straight with you and letting you know that I won’t be updating any of my comics stuff this week. Both the weekly and the daily are going to have to wait til next week to get any action from me.
I’m about 3/4 of the way through this week’s weekly page which was supposed to go up on Monday 6/15 but, after 2 years building to this point, it’s not fair to me, the script or anyone who’s been reading to half-ass anything at this point. Every page from here on out has a significant reveal or falling action that is like a story-telling punch in the face, and I hope you want that done right just as much as me.
So, look for the page that was supposed to post this week on Monday 6/22 if all goes according to plan for the rest of this week. I should be able to back on the dailies starting 6/23.
Unless there’s more paying work, of course.

Coast City Comics Grand Opening
Saturday June, 13 is the Grand Opening of Coast City Comics at 656 Congress Street in Portland Maine. I will be there from 10AM to 4PM doing free sketches and selling circlecomics stuff. Several other artists will be there as well including Jeff Wamester, Ben Bishop, Joel Rivers, Sarah Winifred Searle, Elizabeth Heller and more!
Events are planned throughout the day, into the evening and all weekend long to kick this thing off right. They’re going to establish themselves as a place for the culture of comics with respect to the art and creative community involved with the production and appreciation of comics. There’s a gallery show that will correspond with the opening of the shop and a DJ will be knocking out some tunes as well. If you’re in town, heck, if you’re in NEW ENGLAND, drive on up and check it out, buy some books, get some free drawings and just be a part of an artistic event that doesn’t come along very often.

48 Hour Film Project: New Hampshire
Also going on this weekend is the inaugural edition of the 48 Hour Film Project in New Hampshire. This is an event that has been going on for years, but the closest cities prior to this year that I would have been able to participate would have been the aforementioned Portland, Maine or Boston , Massachusetts. While those would have been nice and all, it’s really cool to be competing with people that live in your area and, heck, if we win, it’ll be nice to represent my hometown. Check out the website for the specific details, all you really need to know is if you try to contact me this weekend, I’m either going to be drawing for someone, writing scripts, blocking scenes, acting or helping to edit this thing.
Not sleeping, though. So don’t worry about waking me up or anything.
It’s going to be a lot of fun. It’s not something I’ve ever done before but the guys that I’ll be working with are really good friends of mine and really creative people as well. I’m confident that the pooling of our respective talents is going to produce some quality stuff. I’m sure I’ll be posting about the whole experience when it’s over (and perhaps, after a nap or two).
Stick-Man Dailies
Are you reading the Stick-Man dailies? Did you know that they still existed? Did you know that I’m still doing these every Tuesday through Friday so that you can get your fill of Stick-Man Monday through Friday every week?
I know I wrote about it here a while back saying that I was moving them to Drunk Duck.com, but I don’t know that I ever followed up on that here in the blog. I also, now that I look, don’t think I’ve put up any kind of button to the comics. What an maroon! Gotta put that on the list of things to fix…
Anyway, check ‘em out, and for cryin’ out loud, set up an account, rate the strips and leave a comment!
